Before the appointment

Have the duct system ready.

The ductwork should be installed and accessible enough to prepare for testing. Supply and return openings are temporarily sealed during the test so the equipment can measure leakage from the system.

  • Send the project address and conditioned floor area.
  • Tell us whether the air handler is installed.
  • Make sure registers and duct openings are accessible.
  • Confirm which duct test your building department requested.

What does CFM25 mean?

CFM25 is the test number used to show how much air is leaking from the duct system. We compare that number with the home’s conditioned floor area and the requirement for the project.

Can this be combined with a blower door test?

Yes. When the project is ready for both, we can often complete blower door and duct leakage testing during the same appointment.
